Memories: Dreams or Reflections? : I was a little boy when I came back to America from living abroad. To get to our new home in Chicago we had to take a long train trip across the breadth of this land. I was gripped and enchanted by the Midwest prairies and farms: So spread out. So lonely and small against the vast open land and limitless sky. A half century later what are the images I've retained from that unending train trip-- reflections on memory or dreams I've made up?
